In addition to the ONLINE APPLICATION, a substitute employee packet, including payroll and federal employment authorization forms MUST BE COMPLETED for all Substitute Positions.
Please complete forms in person at the Ball-Chatham District Office at 201 W. Mulberry, Chatham, IL. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM - 4PM.
FSLA STATUS: Non-exempt
SALARY: $11.00/hour
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass fingerprint criminal background check
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years old
Experience or training with persons with disabilities preferred
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate with students
Ability to apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions
Ability to exercise appropriate disciplinary techniques
Ability to be trained in behavior modification techniques
Ability to work as a team member and serve as a role model
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, sit and use hands.
Frequently, the employee is required to assist physically challenged students.
JOB GOAL: To provide direct assistance to young and/or disabled students in order to promote the safest and most efficient environment while in route to and from school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below but not limited to:
Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.
Maintains order and provides for safety of all students through the use of appropriate student management techniques.
Provides behavior feedback to teachers/administrators in format and time schedules as requested.
Reports disciplinary and medical problems immediately to driver and proper school authority.
Assures that all special/adaptive equipment is secured while in transit and available to appropriate students.
Acquired working knowledge of each student's handicapping condition and maintains confidentiality of information.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands: Interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, planning, documenting, specifying, coordinating, implementing, and concentrating.
Physical Demands: Bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Manual dexterity to operate related equipment, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity, ability to read and write, ability to speak and understand the English language.
Environmental Conditions: The work is performed primarily outdoors.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
